About us
UNG Food Pantry
The UNG Food Pantry is located at the Vickery House (the Vickery House is also home to the Georgia Appalachian Studies Center). You can find it on East Main Street headed towards Dahlonega Square. While not well known, the food pantry has been a vital role in some students' lives and is run by fantastic volunteers who put their best efforts into keeping the place running.
The UNG Food Pantry is always looking for more donations and volunteers.

OUR MISSION
There are many people, including university students, who are in need of basic necessities such as food and toiletries who are afraid to ask for help. Within the population of the 6,196 people in Dahlonega, GA there are 35.8% in poverty. In 2017, 28% of new students qualified for Pell Grant (a type of financial aid to help students who could possibly be struggling with poverty). These people do not always have access to food and supplies that they need in order for them to be able to survive in their daily lives.
Our mission is to provide the UNG Food Pantry with the supplies they need to help the students at UNG. We hope our fundraiser will result in more than enough can goods/non-perishables and other supplies. We want the students who need supplies to feel comfortable with using the food pantry and even spread the word about its existence.
While the UNG Food Pantry is solely for UNG, Lumpkin County has their own Food Bank with a goal to provide for the Dahlonega public.
We are not teamed with the Georgia Mountain Food Bank, but here is there website for more information about them.
